Jana is privacy and compliance lawyer. A Texas attorney for more than 20 years, Jana is also certified as an information privacy professional (CIPP/US), a compliance & ethics professional (CCEP) and a fraud examiner (CFE). Jana has a strong background in litigating employment and commercial cases for corporate clients in state courts, federal district, bankruptcy and appellate courts, and the American Arbitration Association. Jana formed Beckstead Terry PLLC in 2014 after working in the bankruptcy and litigation practice groups of three top-tier law firms in Dallas, Houston, and Austin.  Her areas of focus/representative experience include:

• Advise and counsel businesses regarding privacy & security laws, compliance with FCPA, creditors’ rights and other commercial matters. Negotiate agreements, review and prepare contracts and policies.
• Defended and prosecuted multiple cases involving allegations of fraud and fraudulent transfer.
• Litigated non-compete and other employment-related cases.
• Managed the national litigation and bankruptcy docket for a Fortune 25 global healthcare company.
• In connection with representing a committee of unsecured creditors in a high-profile bankruptcy, investigated suspect corporate transactions and potential liability of third-party advisors and banks.
