Biography
Jane I. Coogan joined the firm as an associate in January of 2014. Attorney Coogan is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross (B.A. 2001) and Villanova University School of Law (J.D. 2007, L.L.M. 2007).
While in law school, Ms. Coogan participated in the Federal Tax Clinic, representing low income taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and in the U.S. Tax Court. She also served as a Research Assistant for Prof. Leslie Book in his writing of an American University Law Review article, “Freakonomics and the Tax Gap: An Applied Perspective.”
Prior to joining Coogan Smith, Attorney Coogan worked as an associate in a New Jersey law firm, specializing in the areas of tax and estate planning.
Attorney Coogan is licensed to practice in the states of Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and New Jersey, and in the United States Tax Court. She is a member of the Attleboro Area, New York, Rhode Island, and New Jersey Bar Associations.
Ms. Coogan serves on the St. John's School Principal's Advisory Board, on the Board of Directors for HealthCare Options, Inc., and as a Corporator for both the Attleboro YMCA and Bristol County Savings Bank.
