In addition to working on specific cases for my clients, my current project is to work for what's called "Debt-Free Justice." I became aware of this movement while working on a motion to waive court-imposed fines and fees in a case. The reseach I was doing led me to an article about how fines and fees keep people "in the system" because failures to pay can lead to allegations of violation of probation. It's a cycle that needs to be broken. 

My intrerest in helping people has always been strong and I can thank my family for that. Coming from New York City to California in the 1940's, my family was in the lower socioeconomic group. Education, service and humbleness made us who we are today.

I love to learn now things, study different cultures and am a student of languages. I speak French and Spanish and want to learn Arabic, too. I love graffiti art, sour candy and reading true crime. My favorite movies are Quentin Tarantino films. 

That motion I mentioned--to waive court fines and fees in a case--it was successful!
