Biography
Mr. Weinberg, age 63, graduated from Trenton State College, now known as the College of New Jersey, in 1983, and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers Law School in 1989. He was admitted in 1989 to practice law in the State of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Jay A. Weinberg, Esq. established the Law Office of Jay A. Weinberg in 1996. He is currently admitted to the New Jersey Bar and can appear as counsel in any State, for particular occasions. Mr. Weinberg is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Middlesex County Bar Association and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
Over the course of his 35 year legal career, Mr. Weinberg has appeared in the United States Federal Court located in Newark, Trenton and Camden, in New Jersey State Courts in almost every County in New Jersey, and Municipal Courts throughout the State. He served as a private prosecutor for a number of corporations for ten years in seven municipal courts. Over the course of two decades he has appeared in Court over 1,000 times. Mr. Weinberg is counsel for the Asian American Law Enforcement Association – NJ, and the Federal Air Marshals.
Mr. Weinberg’s approach to law is pragmatic – give each client excellent service and do an excellent job. He practices with a commitment to the client, but also to himself and to the legal profession. Clients deserve focused, accountable, knowledgeable representation. Hard work makes these goals easier to achieve, and Mr. Weinberg strives to give each client the best possible representation and obtain the best results they can hope for.
Jay Weinberg is married with two children. Outside of law, and his commitment to his family and close friends, Jay has been an avid martial artist. He diligently studied kung fu in the 1980′s, has obtained the rank of black belt in two styles of Japanese Karate and is currently most actively training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The principles of martial arts carry over to his practice of law – work hard, seek leverage and understand opportunity, respect, patience and timing.
