Voted "Best DUI Lawyer" in Colorado's official bar journal since 2013, Jay Tiftickjian literally wrote the book on DUI Defense in Colorado. Jay is a former President of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar and a former Colorado Deputy District Attorney. He is the editor of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar's DUI Defense Manual and is the co-author of Colorado DUI Defense: The Law and Practice. He also edited and co-wrote Medicolegal Aspects of Marijuana, which is used across the country by lawyers and doctors dealing with issues related to the pharmacology and legal issues related to marijuana.

As a Denver DUI lawyer, he has provided expert legal analysis for many local and national media outlets including the New York Times, the Denver Post, Colorado Public Radio, USA Today, 9News, 7News, and Fox News.

Mr. Tiftickjian is often asked to represent CCDB's interests in the legislature and is a member of their legislative policy committee. He has been asked to chair multiple seminars for both the Colorado Bar Association and Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, as well as other national educational organizations. His seminars focus on DUI defense, marijuana impairment, narcotics, professional ethics, and law practice management.
