Biography
I passed the Delaware 2022 Bar Examination and was barred in January 2023. I am currently a Family Law Associate Attorney at MacElree Harvey, Ltd.
I previously clerked for the Honorable Jennifer Ranji in the Family Court of Delaware from September 2022 through August 2023. I have drafted judicial orders and memoranda on custody and ancillary matters. I have also conducted research on various areas of family law, including protection from abuse matters and animal welfare.
While in law school, I interned with the Office of the Child Advocate of Delaware and worked for Copeland Taylor, LLC. At Copeland Taylor, I assisted with case preparation in divorce and ancillary matters, prepared draft motions and stipulations for custody, divorce, and ancillary matters, and helped prepare for protection from abuse matters.
Through the Office of the Child Advocate, I prepared case timelines for the Child Abuse and Neglect Committee meetings, assisted with case preparation in child dependency and neglect matters, and prepared materials and reports on procedures for agencies and organizations helping substance exposed infants. I also drafted an outline for a Memorandum of Understanding to implement federal and state law regarding substance exposed infants.
In summer 2020, I interned with the Honorable Vivian Medinilla in the New Castle County Superior Court. In this role, I gained an understanding of criminal law in practice by observing oral arguments on motions, plea-by-appointment, and sentencing calendars. I also drafted orders in response to criminal motions and memoranda on criminal law cases and asbestos litigation.
I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Law and Society and hold an honor’s degree in Political Science with a concentration in Law, Politics and Theory. I have minors in Forensic Science, Legal Studies and Sociology. I earned the General Honor’s Award by completing 18 credits of honors coursework in my first two years of undergraduate studies. I am a founding member of Pi Beta Phi Women’s Fraternity and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha International Sociology Honor Society and Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society. Besides my studies, I worked part-time and participated in volunteer activities.
In college, I externed with the Family Court of Delaware where I observed child dependency and neglect matters, and custody and divorce hearings.
