Biography

My family law practice focuses exclusively on helping clients resolve issues relating to divorce, child support, child custody and visitation. Clients have the option of hiring me to give advice about a specific issue or for full representation in family matters heard in York or Cumberland counties.

Pre-litigation analysis:

Sometimes life does not go as planned - when things are going wrong, it is important to understand the court process early on. I can offer clients with ongoing guidance and insight, to help guide you during those difficult times.

Multi-State Child Custody and Child Support Issues:

In my former position as a Child Support Enforcement Agent at the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, I gained extensive experience dealing with out of state orders relating to child custody and child support. When parents reside in multiple states, the analysis to determine who has jurisdiction to modify or establish an order can be confusing and requires a careful analysis by an attorney with experience in this area.

Appeals:

Arguing before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court was an incredible experience that I look forward to doing again. I love family matter appellate work - having argued to undo a lower court's decision and also fighting to uphold favorable decisions issued by lower courts.

Community Involvement:

I am part of the Family Division of the American Bar Association, a member of the Family Law Section of the Maine State Bar Association, and also a member of the York Bar Association.
