Biography
Jeffrey C. Hicks is a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent® rated attorney serving as Senior Counsel - Real Estate for Dart Container and its related entities. In that capacity he is responsible for overseeing legal matters pertaining to the purchase, sale, leasing, holding, and use of all domestic and foreign corporate real estate holdings. As Senior Counsel he is charged with handling the most complex, highly sensitive and specialized matters of legal policies and procedures related to corporate real estate.
Prior to joining Dart, Hicks was a founding member of Hicks & Mullett, PLLC. His practice was concentrated in real property law including: commercial and residential real estate and lending; zoning; development; boundary disputes; easements; homeowner/condo associations; and, land use. His practice also included business and business asset sales and acquisitions, and general business law. His former clients included financial institutions ranging in size from community banks to one of the largest money managers in the Midwest, homeowner and condominium associations, developers, franchisees, homeowners, marketing and social media firms, non-profits, professional corporations and individuals.
Prior to entering private practice, Hicks clerked for the Honorable Philip D. Schaefer of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court for the County of Kalamazoo. He also spent four years with the Michigan Court of Appeals in the First, Second and Fourth Districts. During that time he completed an internship with Michigan Court of Appeals Judge, Henry William Saad. Prior to forming Hicks & Mullett, PLLC, Jeff practiced with a boutique Lansing law firm specializing in real property, land use, wetlands, and water law.
Jeff is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science-Prelaw from Michigan State University. In 2008 he was elected to the Delta Township Board as Trustee. He was subsequently reelected in 2012.

Mr. Hicks is admitted to practice in all Michigan State and Federal courts and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
