Biography
Jenny Tran is a Senior Associate of the law firm of Brown & Streza LLP. Her areas of practice include Mergers & Acquisitions, and business and tax planning for privately held businesses and their owners on entity design, business succession, risk management and allocation, corporate compliance and governance, and operations.
Hailing from an entrepreneurial family conducting an import and international distribution business, Jenny delivers well-crafted legal and tax advice backed by an inherent business and interpersonal understanding. She serves as outside general counsel to privately held businesses in a variety of industries, including aerospace, energy, online digital media and communities, insurance agencies, retail markets, pharmacies, hotel franchisees, fashion, and food and beverage operators. She collaborates with the trusted advisors of business owners and their families to timely design, implement, and execute a planned solution for tax efficiency, operational growth, and business succession.
Jenny has worked closely with the Business Department at Brown & Streza, LLP since 2003 and apprenticed with a slate of judges and prestigious agencies prior to becoming an attorney. As an accomplished attorney, she has taught Business Planning as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Loyola Law School.
For seven consecutive years Jenny has been included on the “Southern California Super Lawyer Rising Star” list by Los Angeles Magazine – a distinction recognizing only 2.5% of the attorneys in Southern California.
She commenced her legal education at Whittier Law School as a Fellow for the Center for International and Comparative Law, and subsequently became a member of Whittier Law Review, a semi-finalist in the Susan E. McGuigan Oral Advocacy Competition, and a Dean’s Merit Scholar. Jenny received her Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles where she completed a specialized curriculum in the Business Law Practicum, served as a Junior and Senior Editor of the Los Angeles Public Interest Law Journal, and competed in Scott Moot Court. She also obtained a Masters of Law in Taxation from Chapman University School of Law as a Merit Scholar and received first honors in Tax Procedure and Administration. Jenny received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Behavior from UC Irvine where she served as a student lecturer for Social Sciences 20: Model United Nations.
Jenny is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). She lives in Irvine, California with her husband Patrick Clinger, who is founder of , and daughter. They share a joy for tabletop board games and can be found teaching and playing amongst their friends and extended family.
