Ms. Charles is licensed to practice in the state of Maryland. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from the highly acclaimed Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She continued her pursuit and concern about ethics and justice, and obtained a Juris Doctor in law and a Master of Arts in Philosophy & Social Policy from The American University in Washington, D.C. 

Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Charles’ focus was to begin to leverage her knowledge in both the public and private sectors.  She has had experience working in both state and federal agencies as well as working for large multi-national corporations.

Ms. Charles has an extensive family law practice, where she handles cases including divorce, separation, custody, and child support.  She also has experience handling more complex family law issues  such as in the case of military divorces and non-custodial parent's rights.

In addition to family law, Ms. Charles also addresses legal matters concerning Wills, Trusts & Estates  for families and Corporate and  Business Law matters for small and medium sized local businesses. 

Ms. Charles has continued her promise to encourage strong ties within her community by serving as a member with  non-profit organizations, and by providing pro-bono assistance to those in need. Ms. Charles volunteers regularly through Community Legal Services' Family Law Clinic  and other local organizations in the county.

She has been an adjunct professor of Philosophy at Prince George's Community College for more than twelve years, teaching courses pertaining to Ethics, Morality and Law.
