John C. Demas is thrilled to bring his client comprehensive estate planning services into the community.  He brings a unique mix of legal, tax, real estate, accounting, title insurance, hotel management and business consulting experience into his practice where he is able to understand the business decisions real estate owners need to make when considering their estate planning.

Additionally, Professor Demas has over a decade worth of teaching experience at the University of San Diego.  His course offerings span from undergraduate Real Estate Law to Federal Tax Research for Masters students, where he consistently makes complicated concepts easy to understand.

John is licensed to practice law in California and Colorado, and is licensed before the United States Supreme Court, the US Court of Federal Claims, the United States Tax Court, the 9th, 10th and Federal Circuits, as well as all Federal District Courts in California and Colorado.

John's research focuses on matters affecting Wills and Trusts.  He is particularly interested in issues affecting estate planning for real estate owners, title insurance matters, sustainability, pedagogy, tax and strategic leadership.

Mr. Demas is a Professor and Fellow of Telluride Leadership Institute LLC, is a California licensed real estate broker, holds a LEED AP BD+C Certification with the US Green Building Council, and acts as a member of the Board of Directors and Strategic Advisor to select privately held organizations.
