Biography
John is an Associate Attorney at Simmons and Schiavo, LLP, having joined the firm in June, 2024. John focuses his practice on estate planning, estate settlement, and Medicaid applications. Throughout his career, John has learned that the most important parts of practicing law are effective communication, being a sounding board for clients as much as an advocate, and making a difference in clients’ lives. John strives build long lasting client relationships by providing clients with high quality representation in a clear, unintimidating, and stress-free environment.
Prior to joining Simmons and Schiavo, LLP, John was the owner and manager of Zuccaro Law, LLC, handling estate planning, probate, and real estate matters. Additionally, John gained invaluable experience as an Associate Attorney at The Law Office of Robert Pellegrini, Inc., d/b/a PK Boston Law and at The Law Office of Scott C. Holmes. In those roles, John handled a wide variety of civil matters, including, among other things, estate planning, small business formation, real estate and property matters, contract drafting and disputes, and civil litigation. John’s broad litigation experience saw him representing clients in personal injury, contract, employment discrimination, collections, construction, corporate, and other disputes. John has argued before the Boston Municipal Court, District Court Department, Superior Court Department, and the Massachusetts Appeals Court. This invaluable litigation experience helps John provide non-litigation clients with a different perspective on how to address issues in order to best attempt to avoid a costly and time-consuming dispute.
John received his Juris Doctor in 2013 from New England School of Law. At New England Law, John was an Associate Editor and Senior Technical Editor for the New England Journal of International and Comparative Law. During his time in Law School, and shortly thereafter, John served as a Judicial Intern for the Justices of the Boston Municipal Court where he conducted a wide array of legal research and assisted the Justices in drafting opinions and orders. John further interned for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, the Office of the Clerk/Magistrate of the Central Division of the Boston Municipal Court, and in the Insurance and Unemployment Fraud division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. John graduated Summa Cum Laude from Suffolk University in 2010, obtaining a double Bachelor of Science degree in 2010, majoring in Sociology (Criminology) and Government (Political Science).
John is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, State of New Hampshire, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the United States First Circuit Court of Appeals. John is also a Notary Public in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. John is an avid Boston sports fan, and in his free time he enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, gardening, golfing, and astronomy.
