Being a lawyer means representing individuals.  Whether the case calls for out of court representation or fierce trial litigation, my experience has taught me that above all you must maintain decorum and respect for the people and courts involved.  A mentoring attorney once told me "if the facts are on your side, argue the facts.  If the law is on your side, argue the law.  If neither are on your side, pound the table and yell."  Preparation of the facts and law has permitted me to avoid doing any yelling.  But this is the approach I bring to all facets of my practice.  Prepare your clients with clear communications.  Prepare your cases to present relevant facts and persuasive legal arguments.  But do it all so that when the case is closed your clients know they have the best legal counsel and your opponents leave commenting on how worthy an adversary you are.
