As Executive Vice-President and shareholder of Barnes & Diehl, P.C. I focus my practice on all areas of family law.  I am a former forensic and clinical psychologist for the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Correctional Institution in Butner, North Carolina, and Central State Hospital’s Maximum Security Forensic Unit.  My experience and knowledge as a former practicing Licensed Clinical Psychologist is an asset to my clients in navigating the negotiation process and contested litigation. 

I handle all matters related to family law including divorce, complex equitable distribution, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, protective orders, adoption, and modifications of existing orders.  I have litigated cases involving business valuations, sexual abuse allegations, parental alienation, and grandparent rights.  Whether the most complex case or the simplest case, I work closely with all my clients to devise a strategy to achieve their goals and take action to achieve those goals whether it be through a negotiated agreement or aggressive courtroom representation.  I have been voted a Virginia Super Lawyer, by Richmond Magazine Law & Politics, eight years in a row from 2015-2022.
