John L. Williams is a Delaware attorney with extensive experience in business and trust planning and litigation.

Nationally, he is past-Chair of the ABA's LLC & Partnerships Committee related to its Real Property Trusts and Estates Section, Special Investors and Investment Structure Group.   He was also an ABA advisor to the Uniform Protected Series Act. Nationally, he lectures extensively to lawyer groups on the LLC with a particular expertise in the Delaware Series LLC.

He also has a corporate and LLC litigation practice with about 100 cases in the Delaware Court of Chancery, Delaware Superior Court, Bankruptcy Court, and Federa District Court for the District of Delaware. He also helps non-Delaware attorneys with Pro Hac Vice Motions to be admitted in Delaware Court. 

He enjoys working with local businesses, executives, doctors and families with regard to business and estate planning. In that regard he has worked with multi-generational family farming operations (on literally bet-the-farm transactions and litigation), car dealerships, fast-food franchises, construction firms and a range of technology companies. He is familiar with tax strategies to minimize estate tax and not only prepares revocable trust agreements, but can also advise on how to fund and allocate assets between spouses. He also handles probate, estate administration and trust administration and prepared fiduciary income tax returns. 

Additionally he also serves as Qualified Delaware Trustee for Domestic Asset Protection Trusts settled in Delaware no matter where the beneficiaries, grantors or administrative trustees are located. 

He also consults with entrepreneurs on start-up issues, particularly related to choice of entity and tax elections in the context of his e-commerce business, . He enjoys helping business owners with a variety of needs from purchase and sale agreements, assignment of intellectual property agreements, noncompete nondisclosure agreements, employment agreements, opinion letters on financing transactions (often for multi-million dollar commercial mortgage backed securities financing), business succession planning and more.
