John practices in the fields of medical malpractice and personal injury. John has successfully handled numerous, complex medical malpractice, fire explosion, and wrongful death and survival actions cases, resulting in multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for our clients. For example, John has obtained a 5.2 million dollar verdict in Prince George's County, Maryland, for a client who sustained a ureteral injury during a hysterectomy. This verdict was one of the largest verdicts in Southern Maryland and was one of the largest ureteral injury verdicts obtained in the history of the United States. John also obtained a 3.5 million dollar verdict for a client who sustained a bowel injury during a hysterectomy due to the medical negligence of a physician. The verdict was the largest verdict ever obtained in Calvert County history.

John also represents clients in an abundance of personal injury claims stemming from truck, motorcycle and automobile accidents, as well as claims stemming from injuries sustained in fires and fire explosions and slip/trip and fall accidents. In fact, John recently obtained a verdict for a client against Safeway in a trip and fall accident in the amount of 1.62 million dollars.

John has been routinely recognized by his peers in the legal community as one of the top lawyers in his field in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and the Metro Area. These distinct honors were published in DC Magazine, Baltimore Magazine, Washington Post Magazine and Maryland Super Lawyers Magazine. John has also been recognized nationally as a top trial lawyer.

Prior to establishing The Valente Law Group, John clerked for the Honorable Richard H. Sothoron of the Circuit Court for Prince George's County, Maryland. Thereafter, he worked at the law offices of Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr., P.A., as a civil litigator for many years. John litigates cases in State and Federal Courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia. John also litigates medical malpractice claims throughout the Country.
