John R. Hughes has been a Certified Family Law Specialist (CFLS) since 2004.

John's practice has been based in El Dorado County since 1996, and he also handles matters in Sacramento, Amador and Placer Counties. John provides litigation, mediation and collaborative law services to clients. His practice consists of all areas of family law, including divorce, property division, custody, visitation, child support, spousal support, and domestic violence restraining orders.

As a retired CPA, John is able to apply his financial skills and experience to assist his clients. John is a member and former officer of the El Dorado County Bar Association, John completed his Juris Doctor (J.D.) at U.C. Davis School of Law (King Hall), and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1996. John graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from Pacific Union College in 1983. John obtained a California Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in 1986.
