Criminal Defense & Military Law
Biography
I have been licensed to practice law in the state of Texas since 1998 and in Military Courts since 2002. I practice in Houston, Harris County, Texas and its nearby counties as well as courts-martial wherever they may be held. I served the citizens of Harris County, Texas as a prosecutor with the District Attorney's Office for over 16 years and left the office as a Felony District Court Chief prosecutor assigned to the Major Offenders Division. During my career as a prosecutor I tried every kind of criminal case from speeding tickets to capital murders with most of my experience focusing on sexual assaults, assaults, robberies, murder and child pornography. I also previously served in the United States Army Reserve as a Trial Defense Attorney for over 9 years, protecting the rights of soldiers accused of violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and facing adverse administrative actions (one year of which was on active duty in support of Operation Enduring Freedom). I also served nearly three years as an adjunct professor at the JAG School in the Criminal Law Department, teaching newly-minted JAG's how to try court-martial cases as a prosecutor and as a criminal defense attorney. During my career, civilian and military, I have tried over 150 contested matters to juries, panels, and boards, zealously looking out for the best interests of my clients. Regardless of the possible penalty of the crime you are facing, it is a serious matter to you and a serious matter to me! Knowing both sides of a criminal case is what you get from me...because I have done it for years. Let me use that knowledge to help you!
