Biography
John T. Loughney is an associate with the law firm of Sasscer, Clagett & Bucher. He specializes in civil litigation and his practice is focused on family law matters, including divorce, custody, guardianship, adoption, de facto parenthood, and domestic violence.
Mr. Loughney graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park with a degree in French. He attended law school at the College of William & Mary where he worked on the Economic Law & Policy Review, Election Law Blog, and the Institute of Bill of Rights Law. He also interned for Judge Sally Adkins of the Maryland Court of Appeals, where he briefed cases at the highest level of appellate review in Maryland, and in the Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation.
Mr. Loughney represented many clients pro bono at the Southern Maryland Center for Family Advocacy before entering private practice and expanding into general civil litigation, including personal injury cases. At Sasscer, Clagett & Bucher, he handles a diverse case load that includes divorce, custody, domestic violence, CINA, property, trusts & estates, contract, and other complex litigation.
