John is a native of Marietta, Georgia. He graduated cum laude from The University of Georgia in 1984 and the top of his class from The Walter F. George School of Law of Mercer University in 1987. He is a founding partner in our firm and has a long history of successful settlements and trial verdicts with serious injury and wrongful death cases including: car accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, premises liability, nursing home neglect, defective products, and dog bites. He has also served as lead counsel in thousands of worker's compensation cases representing the injured worker.

John has handled numerous cases that have resulted in recoveries in excess of a million dollars. His two million dollar Fulton County verdict in 2011 is said to be a record for a knee injury case.

John began his practice with an insurance defense firm where he gained invaluable experience and insight into the manner in which large corporations and insurance companies defend serious personal injury suits and worker's compensation cases. He left the defense bar in 1990 and since that time has limited his civil practice solely to the representation of individuals with claims against corporations, insurance companies and employers.

He is a speaker at trial lawyers' functions, and is a member of numerous professional organizations including The Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Southern Trial Lawyers Association, Civil Justice PAC, and the Douglas County Bar Association. 

In 2018, John made CVN's Top 10 Plaintiff's Verdicts of 2018 list and was invited to join the Trial Lawyers Million Dollar Verdict Club due to the $12,500, verdict he received when a major motorcycle manufacturer failed to warn about a brake defect resulting in a crash causing permanent spine injuries.

In 2019, John received the prestigious Georgia Super Lawyer award!
