Mr. Kales concentrates and limits his practice to Virginia family law and domestic relations cases, including divorce mediation, collaborative divorce, preparation of separation and property settlement agreements, equitable distribution of property, child/spousal support, and child custody/visitation.

Mr. Kales helps clients to navigate their divorces with support and compassion, assisting them to reach the best solutions for themselves and their families. Some of these resolutions are reached via alternative dispute resolution, such as the Collaborative Process or mediation. Others are reached via traditional, attorney-to-attorney negotiations. Still others are reached via his firm's flat fee, uncontested divorce program. 

On multiple occassions, Mr. Kales has been named a member of Virginia's Legal Elite in the area of alternative dispute resolution by Virginia Business Magazine and to the Virginia Super Lawyers list, an honor awarded to no more than five percent of attorneys.
