Jonathan M. Colman is a shareholder at Barron, Rosenberg, Mayoras & Mayoras, P.C. He concentrates his practice in litigation with a focus on trust and estate disputes, as well as probate and business disputes. Jonathan has significant experience and expertise in representing fiduciaries, as well as heirs, beneficiaries and other interested parties in complex probate proceedings throughout the State of Michigan. He also counsels clients on best practices and strategies to avoid future disputes when setting their personal and business affairs in order.

Jonathan has been listed in Best Lawyers in America® for Litigation—Trusts and Estates, honoring the top 5% of practicing attorneys in the United States. He has also been selected as a Michigan Super Lawyers “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine and named a “Top Lawyer” by dbusiness Magazine.

While attending Wayne State University Law School, he was named both a Dean’s Scholar and a Lombard Fellow and was honored for excellence in written advocacy as a member of Wayne State’s Moot Court Program. Jonathan is admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of Michigan, and the Federal District Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. He is a member of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the Michigan Bar Association, the Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law of the American Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Jonathan serves in leadership roles with a number of civic and community organizations, including serving Co-Chairman of the Board of Leaders for Kids, an advisory board to the Children’s Foundation (formerly Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation) and the Children’s Foundation’s Planned Giving Advisory Council. He is also a member of the Financial and Estate Planning Council of Metropolitan Detroit.
