I believe that everyone should know their rights. Everyone should have access to justice. Unfortunately, the system isn’t set up that way. Very few people have lawyers in their family or friend group. And although lawyers take a lot of heat in our society, they are necessary. Without lawyers, people are without justice: companies discriminate against people and get away with it; people drive their vehicles negligently into others and get away with it; cops brutalize people and nothing happens. Without lawyers, society has to turn to street justice because the courts can’t provide legal justice and enforce the laws.
