After growing up in Austin, Joe graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration and communication from Trinity University and subsequently enrolled at St. Mary's University School of Law. There, he distinguished himself as a member of both the Board of Advocates and the National Mock Trial team. 

In additional to his outstanding work as a litigator, Joe has greatly benefited his professional community as a member of distinguished organizations, including the Austin Bar Association, Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Associations, and the American Assocation for Justice. He's earned awards such as the 10 Best Attorneys for Client Satisfaction by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys for three consective years (2016-2018), and named to the 2016, 2019, and 2020 Top 40 under 40 list published by the National Trial Lawyers. He was named one of the Top Attorneys in Texas Rising Stars published in Texas Monthly, and is a lifetime member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a distinction held by less than one percent of the attorneys nationwide. He was also named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2019. 

In all his endeavors, Joe is blessed with the love and support of his wife, Erica, and their two young children, Ellie and Henry. Outside of the office, Joe enjoys spending his time playing golf, tennis, and basketball.
