Mr. Fogelman was born and raised in Austin. He attended the University of Texas at Austin for undergraduate school. He earned his law degree from Baylor Law School in 2008. He passed the Texas bar exam before graduation. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is licensed to practice before all state courts in Texas.

After law school, Mr. Fogelman worked for the Texas Supreme Court as a briefing attorney. These positions are highly competitive since each justice has a very small staff.
