Biography
I am a full-service attorney licensed to practice in Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Washington, Wyoming, Utah, and Montana as well as numerous Federal courts including the United States Supreme Court. I specialize in Federal and state appeals, litigation, constitutional law and civil rights defense, tax, estates and trusts, business law, administrative law and regulatory compliance, contracts, commercial transactions, and cybersecurity.
I leverage my knowledge, skills, training and experience to effectively and efficiently assist my clients with transactional, litigation, and administrative/regulatory matters. Prior to earning my law degree, I served for two years with the State of Colorado as a Revenue Agent, and for six years with the Department of Defense specializing in regulatory compliance audits and investigations.
In addition, I am a Colorado Certified Public Accountant, and holds a number of professional certifications in accounting and auditing, including: Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Management Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Information Technology Professional, and Certified Forensic Accountant. This background gives me unique insights that allows me to "speak the same language" as my business clients.
Potential clients that would benefit the most from the services I provide include those involved in complex litigation—particularly if they are in need of appellate counsel—those seeking to build their businesses and in need of business and tax planning, individuals and businesses seeking to pursue or defend against claim based on or raising a complex or novel issues of law; businesses with complex or ultra-complex operations with many moving parts wherein a single flaw in design or procedure can have a cascading effect and want to avoid going to court in the first place rather than just defending against lawsuits as they arise (and being well-prepared to defend any lawsuits that do get filed); and, finally, defendants in existing or soon-to-be-filed lawsuits that have significant exposure and are seeking crisis response to mitigate that exposure on a short time-frame.
