Josh is a principal of Matchstick Legal, a Portland, Oregon law firm helping freelancers, growing studios, busy agencies, and new media companies find practical solutions to their business law problems. Client-focused and detail-oriented, Josh is always looking for opportunities to help clients up their legal game.

Josh hails from Bozeman, Montana where he earned a BS in accounting cum laude at Montana State University and became a CPA. From there, Josh attended Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon where he met his wife.

In the community, Josh is a former Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors of AIGA Portland, the professional association of design. Josh helped found and serves as an advisor to Operation Pitch Invasion, a local 501(c)(3) that builds, restores and maintains soccer fields throughout the Portland metro area. Josh also helped establish and advises the 107 Independent Supporters Trust, the nonprofit organizing and financial engine behind the Timbers Army.

Josh is an an avid supporter of the Portland Timbers and proud member of its supporter group, the Timbers Army. If you stand in the North End of Providence Park on match days, you might even hear him sing.
