Julie focuses on finding practical, efficient solutions to her clients’ legal problems. She helps her clients minimize financial difficulties and uncertainties and reduce parenting conflicts so they can work toward a secure and stable future. Julie enjoys a close working relationship with her clients, and she finds it especially satisfying to help them resolve their legal issues so they can move into the next phase of their lives with a hopeful outlook.

She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina State Bar, the 14th Judicial District Bar, the 14th Judicial District Bar Association, and the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys. She has organized continuing legal education and mentoring workshops for lawyers. Julie volunteered for the Durham Rape Crisis Center, the Orange County Women’s Center, the Durham Family Court’s Help Desk, and Urban Ministries of Durham

Julie has served in leadership positions in her children’s schools and in neighborhood associations and was a principal organizer and leader of her neighborhood’s response to two land-use issues.

Julie and her husband, John Woodmansee, a teacher at the NC School of Science and Mathematics, have two children. She is a singer and musician, and she enjoys gardening and travel.​
