Biography
Karla Verma is an Attorney at the Urbina Law Firm, LLC. Mrs. Verma grew up in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico then moved to Savannah, Georgia in the summer of 2004. Mrs. Verma graduated in 2012 from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Spanish. Mrs. Verma earned her J.D. from the Charleston School of Law in 2016, where she served as Senior Research Editor to the school’s flagship law journal, the Charleston Law Review and also served as President of the Latino/a Law Students Association.
Charleston Law ReviewMrs. Verma has worked over eight years helping individuals navigate through the complex world of immigration. As a second year law student, Mrs. Verma interned at the South Carolina Legal Services Migrant Division, where she traveled the state of South Carolina to inform migrant farm workers of their rights and ensure that their employers adhered to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. During her third year of law school, Mrs. Verma worked at the Immigrant Legal Center, LLC in Charleston, SC, where she consulted with clients on their cases on a regular basis, performed client interviews, and prepared asylum, U-visa, and family petition applications. Mrs. Verma has experience in dealing with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
While away from the office, Mrs. Verma enjoys hiking, traveling, dancing, and spending time with her family and lovable Pitbull, Krush.
