Biography
Kate Embry received her JD from the University of Mississippi, magna cum laude, in 2007. She also received her B.B.A. in economics from the University of Mississippi in 2004, with a minor in English.
Kate is admitted to practice in Mississippi and Tennessee State and Federal Courts. Kate is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, and is the 2013-2014 Vice-President of the Lafayette County Bar Association.
In law school, Kate was Symposium Editor of the University of Mississippi Law Journal, she was President of the Environmental Law Society, and she received an Am Jur Award for Income Taxation of Individuals.
Kate’s work experience includes civil litigation in both state and federal courts. She has experience in chancery and estate matters. Kate serves as legal counsel for a non-profit Realtor® association and its subsidiary multiple listing service, and has attended multiple legal seminars by the National Association of Realtors®.
Kate has given presentations on Fiduciary Duties of Members of Boards of Directors and also on Medical Records Law.
Kate is a 2013 participant in Leadership Lafayette, and was the top individual fund-raiser for 2012 American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Oxford, MS.
