Ms. Podein assists clients in navigating California’s rapidly-evolving cannabis market. Her focus is on licensing, permitting, regulatory compliance, business entity formation and regulation, and corporate governance. Ms. Podein is also a contributor to various cannabis magazines, websites and the firm’s own legal blog.

Ms. Podein’s background in intellectual property and business law has provided a solid foundation for her to build her cannabis practice. Before joining the firm, she represented and litigated claims for intellectual property and commercial business disputes in federal and state court; negotiated and drafted contracts for licensing, real property and financial agreements; and advised clients on corporate governance.

In her spare time, Ms. Podein enjoys trail running, volunteering with Mountain Restoration Trust and attending live theater and music concerts.
