Kathryn Lyons has been a family law attorney since 2012. She practices in all areas of family law including divorce, child custody, visitation, child and spousal support, property distribution, paternity and post-degree litigation. A versatile attorney, Kathryn provides her clients with a wide range of legal options for resolving their disputes. She possesses the skills to provide the right means of solving the issues in each unique case, whether it involves artful negotiation, mediation, a contested evidentiary hearing, or trial.

Prior to joining <a href="">Petrelli Previtera, LLC</a>, Kathryn worked at a prominent family law firm in Illinois, where she joined as a law clerk in May 2012. Upon receiving her law license in November 2012, she became an associate attorney. Kathryn also previously worked as a law clerk in the litigation department of a New Jersey firm, and she gained experience working in all stages of civil litigation as a law clerk in Saint Louis, MO.

Kathryn graduated cum laude from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, where she obtained bachelor’s degrees in political science and English. During her undergraduate studies, she completed a semester abroad in London, England and served as a caseworker for the Deputy Prime Minister of London’s Parliament. Throughout her four years at the University of Rochester, Kathryn served as a Writing Fellow and tutored students in all stages of the writing process.

Kathryn obtained her law degree from Washington University in Saint Louis, MO. During her studies, Kathryn participated in the Government Lawyering Clinic, for which she completed an Externship with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois. As a Supreme Court Rule 711 intern, Kathryn appeared on behalf of the United States in Federal Court in various proceedings and hearings. Further, Kathryn competed in several intramural moot court competitions while at Washington University, and she served as the Secretary for the Sports and Entertainment Law Society.
