Attorney Katy Jo Muncie was born and raised along the Guadalupe River in the beautiful Hill Country of Hunt, Texas. After graduating high school she attended the University of Houston on a full-ride scholarship where she was active as an officer of her sorority and in the student government. Katy Jo graduated with honors and went on to obtain her law degree at South Texas College of Law. At South Texas, Katy Jo excelled in the school’s nationally-renowned advocacy program, earning the title of Best Oral Advocate on three different occasions, and winning a National Championship for the Admiralty Moot Court Competition in 2011. Katy Jo also graduated in the top of her class and earned high marks in both Family Law and Marital Property courses.

After law school, Katy Jo worked as a lobbyist in Washington D.C. before returning to Texas to work at the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office. Here, Katy Jo spent time practicing in misdemeanor and felony court, trying dozens of cases to jury verdict. As an assistant district attorney, Katy Jo handled hundreds of criminal cases from inception to conclusion ranging from misdemeanor DWI cases all the way to aggravated felonies.
