I have practiced employment law since 1994. I was drawn to this practice area because I enjoy interacting with people and solving problems that involve people.

I work closely with entrepreneurs, business owners and human resource professionals. I help these entities and individuals grow their businesses by guiding them through workplace issues so that they can focus on their business. When clients call me for advice, I explain the law in plain English and give practical tips, solutions and strategies to deal with whatever issue they are facing. Employers often have to make difficult decisions that can impact the lives of their employees. The support I provide gives them the peace of mind that they are seeking.

My career is also rewarding because I have the opportunity to advise executives with respect to career transition matters. This includes negotiating employment agreements, consulting agreements, severance agreements and guiding people through difficult situations when things are not working out with their employer. This experience gives me a well-rounded view of workplace dynamics, which helps me come up with creative solutions for my clients.

Some of the specific matters I handle for clients include the following: litigation of employment claims and non-compete disputes; responding to EEOC charges of discrimination; drafting employment agreements, independent contractor agreements and non-compete agreements; drafting and revising employee handbooks and policies; providing advice as to day-to-day employment issues such as wage and hour compliance and reductions-in-force; and conducting anti-harassment training and other pro-active management training.
