Kevin is the owner the Law Office of Kevin Emerson, LLC where he has a thriving family practice covering multiple judicial districts, including Hartford, New Britian, Middletown, Rockville, New London/Norwich and Putnam.  Kevin brings over 25 years of experience to his practice and endeavors to assist individuals through the family court system, whether through mediation, collaborotive divorce or contested trial.

Kevin offers virtual consultations and mediation or collaborative sessions via Teams.

Kevin currently serves as a Special Master for the Norwich, Tolland, New Britian and Putnam Judicial Districts.  Kevin has also served as a Special Master for the Regional Family Trial Docket and the Early Intervention Pretrial Program established to assist in the settling of highly contentious custody cases.

Kevin is married to his wife of nearly 25 years, a Baptist minister.  They reside in the greater Hartford area with their two children.

Kevin brings integrity and compassion to the divorce practice.  He is trained in both Mediation and Collaborative Divorce and guides his clients into the process that will best fit their individual case.  Kevin is known by coleagues to work together to reach results for his clients with a minimum of emotional and financial expense.  Yet, Kevin is also a fierce litigator having tried countless divorce actions and custody actions before multiple courts across the state.  As such, Kevin brings to each case a personal knowledge of many judges and their tendencies so that he can instruct his clients accordingly.

Kevin has participated in numerous organizations with his wife and children, including Boy Scouts, girls in stride, American Baptist Churches of Connecticut, etc.  Kevin is an active member and leader in professional organizations as well, including the Connecticut Council on Non-Adverserial Divorce, Connecticut Collaborative Divorce Group, and numerous bar associations.  In his free time, Kevin enjoys hiking and canoeing in the Adirondacks and Maine.
