Kevin Hulslander has served as managing partner at the Smith Sovik firm since 2005. He is a trial lawyer and appellate advocate in all the courts across New York State.

Kevin began his career at Palmer & Dodge, a large firm in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was involved in approximately five complex trials, ranging from a large construction dispute to a multimillion-dollar satellite explosion. He has defended several large product manufacturers.

Since returning to Syracuse in 1989, he has tried numerous high profile cases, including all types of matters ranging from  automobile, trucking and premises liability to commercial, construction, Labor Law, products, professional negligence, legal malpractice, and other liability matters. He has represented schools, colleges and universities in all types of litigation.  He defends all types of medical professionals as well as hospitals and nursing homes in professional malpractice claims.

He also represents people in serious personal injury cases all over New York State with an outstanding record of success.

Kevin has received an AV rating from his peers through Martindale-Hubbell since 2001 and has been listed as one of the Top 10 Lawyers in Upstate New York by New York State's Super Lawyers for 2007-2015.  Kevin was also honored with his inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for 2009-2015. He was also honored as Upstate New York's Product Liability Lawyer of the Year in 2011; its Medical Malpractice Lawyer of the Year in 2014 and its Professional Malpractice Lawyer of the Year in 2015.
