Born in Queens, New York, Mr. McDonough attended Auburn University and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree, cum laude. Following college, Mr. McDonough attended and graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he had the distinction of serving as the president of the law school student body, the Student Bar Association.

Professionally, Mr. McDonough has participated in million dollar-plus litigation matters in multiple practice areas and has appeared in various counties throughout the metro-Atlanta area. Mr. McDonough is a past president of the Forsyth County Bar Association.

In addition to legal practice, Mr. McDonough is actively engaged in Forsyth County civic life. Mr. McDonough has served on the following Boards: The Forsyth County Board of Ethics (Vice-Chairman), The Forsyth County United Way (Vice-President of Community Investment), and The Rotary Club of South Forsyth (President).
