I received a Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Kentucky University in 1983 where I majored in English with a minor in Psychology.  I then went on to earn a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Marshall Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia in 1987.

I have been in private practice in Hampton, Virginia since 1988. The focus of my practice has been primarily family law and bankruptcy.  I have also done pro bono work in the area of custody for local women's shelters.

In my spare time I am involved in community activities including serving as secretary for the Wythe Pool and as vice president and now president of a local swim team, the Hampton Sharks.
