Biography
Kim Clayson is a bankruptcy and business law attorney who joined Maxwell Dunn after leading her own firm for the last three years. Kim works with businesses, entrepreneurs and consumers to handle legal issues connected to her clients’ financial health and wellbeing. Her client portfolio includes real estate and construction related businesses, retail restaurants and food service and art and design-centered businesses.
In 2020, Kim was appointed by the Department of Justice United States Trustee Program as a Chapter 11 bankruptcy trustee under the Small Business Restructuring Act which became law in February 2020. In this role, Kim is tasked with facilitating debtor and creditor agreements resulting in restructuring plans for business debtors.
Kim’s bankruptcy practice supports consumers and businesses who have faced financial setbacks and have utilized bankruptcy relief for a fresh start. Her business practice is centered around offering customized small business legal advisory support to assist small businesses and entrepreneurs in making sound business and legal decisions to prevent financial hardship.
