Biography
Leah Ramirez (Hauser) represents clients in a broad range of family law matters. She handles litigation, mediation, arbitration, and appellate matters.
Leah represents clients in divorce and custody cases in the District of Columbia and all across Maryland, including Baltimore County where she formerly served as a law clerk.
Leah has extensive experience in federal and state courts in international and interstate child abduction cases, interstate custody cases, and jurisdictional disputes, including the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA). She represents parents and children in cases under the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.
Leah’s appellate practice includes representing parties and amici in federal and state appellate courts nationwide, including in the Supreme Court of the United States.
In addition to her litigation practice, Leah also represents clients in alternative dispute resolution. Leah is a trained mediator and has completed Maryland’s 40-hour mediation training. She also has experience representing clients in matters involving name changes, guardianships, and child protective services.
Leah served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Vicki Ballou-Watts of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. While a student at the University of Baltimore School of Law, Leah was Associate Managing Editor of the University of Baltimore Law Review and member of the Heuisler Honor Society.
