Biography
I became an attorney so that I can help people who do not understand the system that they face. I opened my own law firm to represent those who often need legal assistance the most--those facing criminal charges. My law partner and I launched our firm in April 2015. Since that time, we have won numerous appeals in Georgia's state courts--including several favorable decisions from the Georgia Surpeme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals. We have also won appeals out of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals--the federal appellate court in Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. In addition to winning appeals, we have represented clients at the federal trial level, including winning trials and negotiating favorable resolutions for our clients.
I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in 2007. I then attended Harvard Law School, where I helped prepare successful applications for asylum at Harvard's Immigration and Refugee Clinic. After graduation, I completed a fellowship with the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Immigration Justice Project, where I focused on protecting the rights of immigrant workers in the South. I then began working as a Staff Attorney at the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, where I worked on many cases, including appeals from criminal, post-conviction, civil rights, and employment decisions. I also addressed petitions for review from the Board of Immigration Appeals.
