Biography
I began in private practice in 1995 and spent 18 years working as an attorney with The Valentine Law Firm in Nashville, North Carolina. During that time, I concentrated in education and local government law, real estate and civil litigation. My clients included the Nash-Rocky Mount Board of Education, the Hertford County Board of Education, the Roanoke-Chowan Community College Board of Trustees, and the Braswell Memorial Public Library Board of Trustees.
In 2013, I joined the North Carolina Department of Justice as an Assistant Attorney General in the Property Control Division, representing the North Carolina Department of Administration and, in particular, the Division of Purchase and Contract. My practice now focuses on state government procurement and litigation on behalf of the Department of Administration.
I have more than 20 years of experience representing state and local government clients in state and federal courts, the Office of Administrative Hearings and appellate courts and advising state and local governments on regulatory, personnel, administrative, contract, and real estate matters.
