I  have been practicing law for over 40 years.  From 1971 to 1983 I served as the head of the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney's Office, with the exception of a short period of time in 1975 when I served as Legal Advisor to South Carolina Governor James Edwards.

Since going into private practice in 1983, I have devoted my practice to civil plaintiff's work including serious automobile accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence and workers compensation and also to the defense of those charged with white collar criminal violations.

I was born and raised in McCellenville, South Carolina, a small fishing village near Charleston and still reside in McClellanville.
