I attended UCLA,  making  the Dean’s List among other scholastic honors, and graduated cum laude in 1984 with a B.A. in Political Science. I then went to  U.C. Hastings College of the Law, graduating in June of 1987 and was admitted to practice law in California in December of that year.  At Hastings, I was president of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity and an active member of the Associated Students.  I am also admitted to practice before all the United States District courts in California, and a member of the Riverside County Bar Association, the and the Consumers Attorneys of California.

After about 19 years working in personal injury and employment litigation, primarily for the defense, I joined up with my long-time friend and colleague, John Tiedt to form Tiedt & Hurd in February 2007.  Our practice emphasizes serious personal injury cases and employment matters. 

I am married with two children, and have been active in Little League Baseball, the YMCA Indian Guides program and local youth soccer.
