Mark I. Unger is a family lawyer, mediator and consultant in San Antonio, Texas, and has 

been highly involved with the integration of law and technology since approximately 1998. In

addition to his practice, he launched Muse Legal Tech Consulting in 2015 to focus on legal 

technology and to help create greater efficiencies for law firms, having spoken at many legal 

technology and family law CLE’s across the state and country. 

He filed the first electronic appellate brief in the State of Texas in 1998 (CD-Rom w/ links to

case-law) and the first electronic pleading in Texas District Courts (in the prior eFiling 

system) in 2003. 

He’s been recognized as one of “San Antonio’s Best Lawyers” regularly since 2007, one of the "Best Lawyers in America" since 2020 and is

a “FastCase 50” Award Winner for 2016. He is former Chair of the Computer Council of the 

State Bar of Texas (and has been an active Council Member since 2001), former President of

the San Antonio Bar Family Law Section and sits on numerous legal technology committees, 

including the Supreme Court’s Judicial Committee on Information Technology (JCIT) since 

2007. He has been Chair of the San Antonio Technology committee/section since 2000.
