Biography
Marty Jo Taylor graduated magna cum laude from Grambling State University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science. Ms. Taylor received her Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University. While attending Texas Southern University, she was a member and served as President of the Christian Legal Society. She also participated in a mentorship program.
After completing law school, Ms. Taylor worked for Monitronics International, Inc., as the Administrator of Consumer and Legal Affairs and in 2003 launched a solo legal practice. In 2004, Ms. Taylor received her Mediation Training Certificate. Ms. Taylor handles traffic tickets, family, immigration, and criminal law matters. She has been an attorney for 19 years. She has been admitted to the Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas.
Ms. Taylor has served as a Special Commissioner for various Dallas County Courts at Law.
Ms. Taylor currently serves in the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and serves on the Jury Services Committee of the State Bar Texas.
She has been a member of the State Bar College and has been featured in Who’s Who in Black Dallas 2016 and 2017. She has been a speaker for Law Week and serves as a Volunteer Deputy Registrar.
Ms. Taylor is a volunteer with Turn of the Tide Ministries. She enjoys working with children and previously served as Director over the Children’s Ministry at Gospel Tabernacle Church as well as Youth Director at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church. Ms. Taylor is a member of Disciple Central Community Church in Desoto, TX.
Ms. Taylor has one child, Keith, that inspires her daily.
