I enjoy a very busy litigation practice helping people withemployment, insurance, building defect and business dispute issues, among otherthings.  In our small firm, we don’t operate or think like abig firm.  We don’t handle things wedon’t believe in.  This frees us up to bemore invested and feel a personal stake in the outcome for our clients.

I grew up in Jackson in a large family.  I have always been inspired to “make it betterfrom within” and being a lawyer for people who have been wronged is a goodvehicle for that. 

When I graduated from Ole Miss School of Law, I married myhusband, David.  In 2004, after 12 yearsof practicing in Jackson, we moved to Bay St. Louis on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi.  Fourteen months later, Hurricane Katrinadevastated the city and surrounding areas. 

I founded “Recycle Hancock” using money I obtainedthrough grants and we set up recycling programs in six schools in HancockCounty to help deal with the waste issue and teach the students the importance of wise resource management.

I worked with others in the community to persuade theleadership of Hancock County to begin county-wide recycling.  In 2007, I was proud to be selected as the“Outstanding Citizen” of Hancock County by the Hancock County Chamber ofCommerce for my efforts in recycling.

I also founded the Live Oak Alliance Mississippi (LOAM), anorganization devoted to the wise use and management of the bountiful naturalresources of Hancock County.   LOAM promotes everything from recycling to biking, walking andbirding and eco-tourism in Hancock County.

In addition to my community work in recycling, I also serveas the co-chair of the Hancock County Food Pantry and am on the Board of theHancock Main Street Association.

 David and I have fourchildren, Darden (deceased 2005), Merritt (15), Bess (13) and Max (3). BothBess and Merritt play a lot of soccer and Max can’t wait until it’s his turn tohit all the sports fields.
