Law is ever-changing, whether by statute, regulation, caselaw, or otherwise. Most people assume all attorneys are aware of recent changes to the Law of their respective practice areas; many attorneys do not become aware of relevant changes for several months, if not longer, after bills are signed into law. (*Note - Maryland attorneys are not required to attend continuing education courses.)

Plans that rely on outdated Laws are outdated.

Monitoring trends in pending, passed, and failed legislation and caselaw enables compliance with current laws and enables clients and I to have a more intelligent discussion about their long-term plans.
