Biography
Matthew E. Yelverton leads the personal injury practice, focusing on matters including trucking accidents, nursing home abuse and neglect, and wrongful death. Prior to joining Thurmond Kirchner Timbes & Yelverton, P.A., Yelverton practiced privately as Matthew E. Yelverton & Associates. He has also worked with Svalina Law Firm, P.A., in Beaufort, S.C., and with Gallivan, White & Boyd, P.A., in Greenville, S.C. Yelverton earned bachelor degrees in political science and philosophy from North Carolina State University before going on to earn his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of a Law. He is admitted to practice in South Carolina, North Carolina, before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and before the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, the North Carolina Association of Trial Lawyers, and the South Carolina Nursing Home Litigators Group. Additionally, Yelverton is co-founder of the Spartanburg Wills for Heroes Program, former commissioner for the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission, and former chairman of the Board of Parklands Foundation. Yelverton, who currently serves on the South Carolina Association for Justice Board of Governors, has been named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, and he also received the Top Ten Verdicts in South Carolina 2012 award from South Carolina Lawyers Weekly.
