Mekel S. Miller graduated with departmental honors from Albion College in 1997. In 2000, she received her law degree cum laude from Catholic University's Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC, where she served as a research attorney for Fr. Raymond O'Brien, professor of family law and a law clerk for the Inspector General of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Ms. Miller has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since 2005. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Oakland County Bar Association, Family Law Section. She is admitted to practice law in the State Courts of Michigan, and Federal Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan and Bankruptcy Court.
